The deconstructed latte at the Coffee Project in the East Village is a treat for the true coffee lover. This unique coffee experience consists of lightly pasteurized milk, espresso and a composed latte served in three stemmed glasses to highlight each individual flavor.
As explained to us by one of the baristas, you start from the left with the espresso, then the frothy (almost creamy-like) milk and end the experience leisurely sipping on the composed latte. The sparking water on the side is there to cleanse your palette before or during the tasting experience so that you may truly savor each element’s flavor.
Besides this unique tasting experience (that comes to around $7 per sampling), people consider the deconstructed latte one of the “most instagram-worthy” coffees out there. And we can’t really object to that!
