A roadside, cozy piece of deliciousness; while Mamma Mia isn’t your typical touristic attraction, as it’s not on the main commercial road in Lakeside, Pokhara. Rather it’s tucked at the beginning of Mansawar Road, right off Harlan Chowk (main road along Phewa Lake), which eventually takes you to the Pokhara city center.
This little self-acclaimed Italian Restaurant, with a Nepalese twist, caught our appetites (and our hearts) ever since the first time we decided to go there for an afternoon snack.
Italian dishes, such as pizza and pasta, were available on the menu and while the choices weren’t exhaustive they were still considerably well-diversified; not to mention, some specialty items that aren’t very well-known (and maybe not even Italian) but really appealing nonetheless. Though it may escape your mind that you are indeed still in Nepal, while spending some time in Pokhara, you need to remember that you still won’t find any beef on the menu; the only beef we were able to spot was actually taking a walk on the road right next to us as we dug in to our meals.
We can never forget those finger-licking-good crispy baby corns, and never would we finish a meal without capping it with a nice warm glass of Masala Tea with milk. Eventually for the rest of the trip we always found ourselves gravitating back to this captivating roadside restaurant. Whenever you find yourself in Pokhara looking for a decently-priced restaurant with an interesting selection of delicious foods, Mamma Mia should definitely be on your list of places to dine.
